Trans Am announces additional partnerships in wake of Road Atlanta weekend

MIAMI, Fla. (May 12, 2015) – The Trans Am Race Company has announced the addition of several key partnerships and contingency programs to their ever-expanding sponsorship platform for the 2015 Trans Am Championship. The platform now includes Penske Racing Shocks, Ford Racing and Mike Cope Racing Enterprises.

These diverse additions are focused on contingency programs for Trans Am competitors, and the Trans Am Series continues to work on expanding value for its growing competitor base. In total, 73 cars participated in Round 3 of the 2015 Trans Am Championship, the Foametix Muscle Car Challenge and the Foametix Trans Am 100 at Road Atlanta.

“We’re making a concentrated effort towards contingency programs right now,” said Ron Richards, Director of Marketing Partnership and Development for the Trans Am Series. “The Trans Am Series has seen astronomic growth over the course of the past few years; we’re working to make sure we support that driver base with a contingency platform of the highest caliber—the additions of Penske Racing Shocks, Ford Racing and Mike Cope Racing Enterprises are key to that platform, and I believe I speak for all of Trans Am when I express our gratitude for their commitment to our Series.”

Penske Racing Shocks will offer contingency incentives to the top three finishers overall in each Trans Am race, while Ford Racing offers a contingency program to competitors in the American Muscle Group of the TA3 Class.

Mike Cope Racing Enterprises has announced the Mike Cope Hard Charger award for the TA2 class, awarding a Mike Cope built TA2 chassis to the TA2 competitor who moves up the most positions, from start to finish, over the course of the 2015 Trans Am Championship within the TA2 class. As with the Penske and Ford Racing programs, the Mike Cope Hard Charger award is reliant upon drivers featuring the respective decal of each contingency partner on their car.

Trans Am’s burgeoning growth is further reflected in its dramatically larger television presence on CBS Sports Network. Building from a 2014 base of two one-hour programs, followers of the series will be able to watch more than 10 hours of programming this season. The series stops May 22-23 at Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park for the Next Dimension 100. The TA/TA3 and TA2 classes will each be showcased in separate one-hour shows on CBS Sports Network.
