Trans Am Series announces Foametix Trans Am 100 at Sebring International Raceway

MIAMI, Fla. (Jan. 14, 2015) – The Trans Am Race Company has announced that the Inaugural Round of the 2015 Trans Am Championship at Sebring International Raceway on March 1, 2015, will be entitled the “Foametix Trans Am 100,” pairing Trans Am with Foametix and Burtin Polymer Laboratories.
“We’re excited to kick off the 2015 Championship with Foametix,” said John Clagett, President of The Trans Am Race Company. “Every year this event at Sebring sets the tone for the season; we are expecting a great turnout and with Foametix onboard, Trans Am will be starting the year in style.”
Claudio Burtin, Owner of Foametix and Burtin Polymer Laboratories, has a long history of competition in the Trans Am Series with 13 years of experience and 46 starts to his name.
“All of us at Foametix are excited to return to Trans Am,” said Burtin. “We have a rich heritage in Trans Am and are expecting a great 2015 Championship season. Foametix is ready to work with Trans Am to put on a fantastic show for everyone involved—drivers, teams and, most importantly, fans.”
All Trans Am races are a 100-mile sprint format, where pit stops are optional and usually avoided. It’s a high-stakes, high-intensity format that brings out the best in drivers, as they compete in a racing environment that only exists in Trans Am.

Sebring International Raceway will play host to the Foametix Trans Am 100 on March 1, 2015 as well as the Sports Car Vintage Racing Association, pairing the past and present of road racing for a showcase of automotive excellence.
