Trans Am Series announces 3-Dimensional Services Triple Shot Showdown

Major partnership introduces midway, increased championship purses and new hardware up for grabs

MIAMI, Fla. [February 23, 2015] – The Trans Am Race Company has announced a major partnership with The 3-Dimensional Services Group, Rochester Hills, MI, that will see the introduction of a flurry of new opportunities and incentives for drivers and teams alike to take home additional Trans Am hardware and glory throughout the 2015 Trans Am Championship.

At the center of the partnership stands The 3-Dimensional Services Triple Shot Showdown, a selection of three historic homes for the Trans Am Series: Lime Rock Park, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Road America, where the Triple Shot Showdown will conclude. The three events, part of the complete 2015 schedule, will be used to award the Triple Shot Trophy to drivers who accumulate the highest point total over the course of the three events in each of Trans Am’s four classes, TA, TA2, TA3 International and TA3 American Muscle.

“We are extremely excited to announce The 3-Dimensional Services Triple Shot Showdown,” said John Clagett, President of The Trans Am Race Company. “It not only celebrates three legendary racetracks, some of the best North America has to offer, but includes additional incentives for drivers at what should be premier events on the 2015 schedule—this is a celebration of Trans Am’s history and increasingly bright future.”

In addition, The 3-Dimensional Services Group has the entitlement rights to the Trigon Trophy presented to Trans Am Champions at the end of the year, while doubling the Championship purses for each class. The 3-Dimensional Services Group, a global leader in rapid manufacturing, supporting a variety of industries, will play a major role in designing and developing the Trans Am Series Midway, Presented by The 3-Dimensional Services Group, which will play host to a variety of fan interactions over the course of the season.

“The Midway, like this partnership, is a great opportunity for us to showcase our capabilities and the synergies we have with Trans Am and all things automotive,” said Alan Peterson, President of The 3-Dimensional Services Group. “The Midway will be a showpiece in this mission, but at the same time we want to bring all of these elements together, including bringing the fans closer to Trans Am. From a vendor row to autograph sessions and driver’s talks, we want to bring the Trans Am world together into a concentrated location for fans and drivers alike.”

The agreement has also helped pave the way for Trans Am’s broadcast return in 2015, expanding the opportunities for fans across the United States to experience a Trans Am race no matter where they live. Now, thanks to the efforts of The 3-Dimensional Services Group, the 2015 Trans Am Championship will see six events broadcast on CBS Sports Network, including all three legs of the 3-Dimensional Services Triple Shot Showdown.
