Trans Am's record fields drive significant increase in sponsor partnerships
May 20, 2015

MIAMI, Fla. – The revitalized Trans Am series has witnessed a record number of entries for the first three series events in 2015 and that burgeoning success has established the platform from which the series has seen a significant increase in companies and organizations participating in a variety of award programs.
More than 200 competitors have entered the first three races and the number of contingency awards and official and special programs in the series has doubled since a season ago, rising to 16 partners from a year ago. The potential payouts posted for the series in 2015 total more than a quarter of a million ($250,000) dollars.
“We’re fortunate to have such a great group of partners,” said Trans Am Race Company president John Clagett. “We’ve added several for this season and they join a great core of official partners and contingency sponsors that were there when the series started on its comeback trail just a few years ago. We’re not finished announcing our partnerships for this season. It’s great to see such a large amount of interest – and the good thing . . . it’s continuing to grow.”
The expanding contingency and special awards programs join a dramatic increase in the number of event sponsors in 2015. Led by 3-Dimensional Services, Foametix and Ryan Companies have joined to push the title sponsorship total to seven of the 12 races. Their support of races has allowed the number of television hours to increase five-fold from 2014. Hour-long shows on CBS Sports Network now total 10, versus just two last season.
“It’s very gratifying to see that our partners understand and buy in to the vision we have created and developed for Trans Am,” said Clagett. “We’re extremely pleased to have the opportunities that lie before us and we’ll be able to announce the exciting plans we have for 2016 in the not-too-distant future.”
