Tom Sheehan Targets Podium Return at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Trans Am CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series

Bow, NEW HAMPSHIRE – June 18, 2025 - Tom Sheehan and his No. 97 LTK Insulation Technologies/Vixen Motorcycle Co./Cope Mustang are gearing up for an electrifying showdown at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, set for June 19-22, 2025. As one of 25 competitors in the highly competitive TA2 Class of the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, Sheehan is poised to make a strong push for the podium in the second annual ProAm Challenge, where nine drivers will be on the grid.
Currently holding fourth place in the ProAm Drivers’ Championship with 387 points, Sheehan has already proven his mettle this season with a standout podium finish (P3) at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Sitting in P4 out of 18 drivers in the ProAm field, the Mid-Ohio event offers a prime opportunity for Sheehan to climb the rankings and solidify his position among the Series’ elite.
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a historic and demanding circuit nestled in Troy Township, Morrow County now in its 63rd year of operation. Certified as an FIA Grade 2 circuit, the 2.4-mile, 15-turn layout challenges drivers with its technical complexity and high-speed sections. Originally opened in 1962 as a 16-turn course, the track underwent a significant redesign in 1963, replacing the slow “Oak Tree Bend” with the iconic “Thunder Valley” downhill straight, showcasing speed.
The circuit’s unique configuration, including a separate starting-line on the backstretch for safe rolling starts, adds to its reputation as a driver favorite and a true test of skill. With its relentless 15 turns, Mid-Ohio demands precision and strategy, making it a perfect stage for Sheehan and his team to showcase their expertise.
“We take the road trip to Mid-Ohio, very fun circuit," stated Tom Sheehan. "The guys are fired up hungry for a result. We are looking to have some fun and see how it shakes out. The action kicks off on Thursday, June 19, with load-in at 2:30 p.m. ET. Teams will have optional test sessions on Friday at 11:25 a.m. and 4:55 p.m., followed by qualifying in two groups starting at 3:35 p.m. on Saturday. The main event, the Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Race, is scheduled for Sunday, June 22, at 1:00 p.m. ET, with drivers battling it out over 45 laps.
