Sheehan and LTK Damon Racing Aims for Maximum Results at Road Atlanta

Braselton, GEORGIA – March 21, 2023 – After two action packed Big Machine Vodka SPIKED Coolers TA2 Series races, New Hampshire’s Tom Sheehan and the No. 97 LTK Insulation Technologies Damon Racing Ford Mustang team are keen on a smooth, consistent race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. The Mission Foods SpeedTour event is slated for March 24 – 26.
With everything but the kitchen sink thrown at Tom and his hardy team in the second round of the Trans Am presented by Pirelli championships at NOLA Motorsports Park, a Top 20 result proved more than commendable. It showcased Tom’s Granite State grit and his team’s determination to rise above adversities in one of the most tenacious racing series around the world.
Heading into the third round of the 2023 season, Tom has tallied 64 points, extracting the most out of each race weekend particularly when the going got tough. Now, Tom and his LTK Damon Racing team look forward to returning to Road Atlanta, site of one of their best finishes during the 2022 season.
Last year, Tom charged his way from his P27 starting position to place P13, a brilliant drive after overcoming mechanical issues toward the end of the race. Without a doubt, it takes savvy and poise to be competitive at the 12-turn, 2.54-mile road course.
More importantly, Tom and the team would love nothing more than to log a strong result at Road Atlanta before a two-month break ahead of Round 4 at Lime Rock Park between May 26 - 29.
Ahead of the Road Atlanta race weekend, Tom, who won the Serck Precision Clean Up Award at NOLA, offered his thoughts about racing at the legendary track in Georgia.
"This weekend is just about doing the basics better," stated Sheehan. "I do my job and focus forward. We'll have a great weekend."
Round 3 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta (with Mission Foods Atlanta Speed Tour) starts off for TA2 competitors on Friday, March 24, with morning and afternoon optional test sessions. A 25-minute practice session is in full swing at 11:20 a.m. ET with group qualifying rounds commencing at 5:20 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 25. Sunday’s TA2 Bennett/BridgeHaul 100 race kicks off at 12:15 p.m. ET, scheduled for 40 laps or 75 minutes.
This year, Trans Am races are available for live streaming on Trans Am and SpeedTour’s YouTube channels with full playbacks immediately available after the race. Also, the races can be seen in edited, 60-minute features broadcasted on MAVTV’s Thursday night primetime slot at 8:00 p.m. ET.
