Sheehan Heads for COTA Finale with Vixen LTK Team Seeking Strong Finish to Breakthrough Season

Austin, TEXAS – October 31, 2024 - A first win in the Trans Am TA2 Class for Tom Sheehan along with three additional podium finishes mean that the No. 97 Vixen Cycle LTK Mustang goes into the final round of the 2024 Trans Am Series CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Pro Am Challenge in P2 out of 25 competitors.

Tom’s win at the World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois was his first in the Pro Am class. The runner-up position at both Road America and Watkins Glen and a third-place finish on the steps at Pittsburgh International Race Complex add up to a promising season for the Ironman as he heads south from his New Hampshire base to the Lone Star State for the season finale. We caught up with Tom as he and the Vixen Motorcycle/LTK Insulation Technologies team were putting the finishing touches to the Mike Cope platform Ford Mustang.

"I'm not taking anything for granted heading to COTA," stated Tom Sheehan. "I just want to work hard and get my best results. A lot goes into the weekend, a lot of work by a lot of great people. I am going to give 100%."

Tom goes into the final weekend of the inaugural TA2 Pro Am Challenge with 809 points, 16-points ahead of Keith Prociuk who is in P3 with 793 points. Jared Odrick sits back in P4 with 741 points. Tom's 16-point cushion over Keith makes him an odds-on shot to clinch the runners-up spot in the Championship, and given Tom's pace in recent events, winning the race shows promise.

Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is a grade 1 FIA-specification 3.427-mile motor racing track and the current home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix. The spectator experience at an SVRA event is like no other motorsport. The paddock area is always open to guests, offering an up-close level of access to cars and drivers. Attendees can check out the garages and see vintage race cars and Trans Am cars getting prepped for the track. Race-goers will see why the Trans Am and vintage racing community is one of the most friendly and knowledgeable groups of people in the car world.

Friday, November 1 will start with an optional test session at 11:15am with practice and official practice at 11:10am on the morning of Saturday, November 2. The the all-important qualifying sessions in two groups start late in the afternoon from 5:15pm. The grid then forms up for the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 race at 10:10am with the race itself over 30 laps going green at 10:35am on Sunday, November 3.
