Ruman Ready for Southern Swing in Final Four Trans Am Rounds

Munroe Falls, Ohio – Amy Ruman and the team are loaded up and ready for a Southern swing and the final four rounds of the Trans Am 2015 schedule – VIR, NOLA, COTA, and Daytona.

Ruman has a podium finish and the Trans Am title on her mind as she heads into Round 9 at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) this weekend. She finished a strong 3rd at the event last year, and is looking to improve two spots this year and make it a win.

“I need to get my mojo back this weekend,” stated Ruman. “We have had damage in the last two rounds to the No. 23, so I am looking for a clean, fast, winning weekend like we had earlier in the year. I want to finish these last four races out strong, just like we started the year. I’m looking forward to this weekend, VIR is an awesome challenging track!”

Ruman finished 6th in the last race at Road America after a wet and wild race day, but the crew has the No. 23 McNichols Chevrolet Corvette ready to take on the exciting iconic 18 turn, 3.27-mile VIR track. She will be targeting an overall victory to try and boost her lead of 24 points in the Championship standings. 56 entries are slated for Sunday’s race, with 13 competing in the TA class.

The track is hosting a test day on Thursday September 24th. The first official Trans Am practice will be at 12:00pm on Friday, then “Fast Five” qualifying for the TA class at 5:40pm, followed by TA2 and TA3. Saturday will be the second official practice session at 11:20am. After a morning warmup at 8:15am, the combined field will see the green flag on Sunday September 27th at 12:55pm for the 31-lap, 101.37-mile race. All times listed are EDT.
