Podium points for Fix in New Jersey

Millville, NJ (June 15, 2015)- The New Jersey Motorsports Park round of the 2015 Trans Am Series schedule produced a fifth consecutive podium finish for Paul Fix and the #4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach/RoyalPurple/Well-Worth Chevrolet Corvette. A second place result keeps Fix in the mix for the overall championship with only an eleven point deficit to first place in the points standings. With seven races remaining on the schedule, ample opportunity remains to procure more points and advance atop the standings.

Fix, who started from the pole slot for Sunday’s race, led from the wave of the green flag. Fix maintained a sufficient gap back to the other competitors holding point.

“The car really was a pleasure to drive,” Said Fix. “As usual the team prepared a well sorted car and we were able to set the pace from the onset of the weekend.”

Following a yellow flag situation, the No 4 Corvette developed a mild handling issue. Fix settled in behind the controls and focused on keeping pace at the front. Although Fix slipped down the running order to fifth, all was not lost. With but a handful of laps remaining in the 45 lap competition, Fix made an inside pass into turn one, overtaking positions to move up the order.

“I had an opening and went for it,” said Fix.” I wasn’t going to be shy and wait for another chance. It was a masterful pass down the inside hugging the pit wall.”

With the laps counting down, Fix was able to take up pursuit of the leader. When the checkered flag was thrown, a second place result and associated points was achieved.

“Overall I am pleased with the weekend,” noted Fix. “The end game for us is the championship. I am looking forward to the rest of the schedule and seizing the required points to obtain that goal.”

The next event of the calendar is Brainerd International Raceway for the Ryan Companies Independence Day Classic, on Sunday July 5, 2015.
