King of the Road: Claudio Burtin Keeps his Camaros at the Top of Trans Am

Claudio Burtin’s success extends far beyond the racetrack, but his passion for motorsports is obvious.

“I never was satisfied with the lesser categories, I wanted to go to the fastest category,” says Burtin, a lifelong racer and motorsports enthusiast who currently owns the two-car Burtin Racing team, fielding Chevrolet Camaros in the legendary Trans Am Series.

“The Camaro has turned out be a really, effective great package,” Burtin explains. “The aero on the Camaro has been one of the real highlights.”

The Camaro has certainly proved effective throughout the 2018 season. Two-time Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) amateur national champion, Lawrence Loshak, currently sits second in points in his No. 2 Camaro from Burtin Racing, with a win at Pittsburgh International Race Complex to his credit this year. Renowned road racer Tomy Drissi meanwhile claimed the Trans Am West Coast championship in the No. 8 Camaro from the Burtin Racing stable. He is also driving in many of the national events with the tour this season and won the most recent stop at Watkins Glen.....
