Howe Racing Enterprises announces Howe Long Haul Award

BEAVERTON, MI. (December 22, 2014) – Howe Racing Enterprises has announced the continuation of its contingency program in the Trans Am Series and the TA2 class for the 2015 Season, and has established the Howe Long Haul Award, to be awarded at each of the 12 Trans Am events throughout the season.

The program marks a new direction for Howe, which had previously awarded contingency prizes to the top three eligible drivers in each TA2 race.

“Howe Racing Enterprises distributed over $10,000 in contingency awards throughout TA2 last year,” said Chas Howe, Owner of Howe Racing Enterprises, “but, even though 14 drivers received awards, two drivers collected 70% of the awards’ value. We wanted to take a different approach this year, hence the Howe Long Haul Award.”

The 2015 Trans Am Championship will see TA2 teams expand their tour of the United States with events taking place from Lime Rock, Connecticut, to Austin, Texas, and Brainerd, Minnesota, to Homestead, Florida. In recognition of the increased cost of travel Howe created new criteria for their 2015 contingency program to help teams that go the distance offset a portion of the associated expense.

“The 2015 Trans Am Championship will see teams travel to some of the best tracks this country has to offer,” said Howe. “It’s an impressive schedule, and we want to make sure that teams are rewarded for their part in the Trans Am show, especially those who make the commitment to cross the country to come race.”

The Howe Long Haul Award contingency program will see an $850 product certificate awarded following each of the 12 Trans Am events. The prize will go to the team competing in a Howe chassis that has traveled the greatest distance to compete in each given event. Each team may only win the award once during the 12-event season, and the award is contingent upon the car having a Howe-provided decal visible on each side of the car. The winners will be determined by Howe based on the travel distance between the shipping address of the team and the event location.

All contingency prizes will be distributed during the season, allowing teams to put the benefit to good use immediately, helping assure their continued participation in TA2 and the Trans Am Series.
