FIX SET TO MAKE FIREWORKS AT BRAINERD

Williamsville, NY (June 30, 2015)- Paul Fix and the #4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach/RoyalPurple/Well-Worth Chevrolet Corvette head to Brainerd International Raceway this week for the Ryan Companies Independence Day Classic on Sunday July 5th. The event marks the halfway point in the 2015 schedule for Trans Am, a season thus far punctuated with numerous podium results and a win, positioning Fix second in the championship points.

Ample racing remains on the calendar and Fix will look to continue obtaining the necessary race results and associated points to forge ahead in the overall standings. With each event comes opportunity to reduce the eleven point deficit to first place in the championship. Fix’s focus is clear and concise.

“The next several races will certainly play a role in our pursuit of the championship,” said Fix. “Momentum is in our favor as we look at the remainder of the schedule. I believe the team is poised to do well and secure our first Trans Am championship trophy.”

Fix is a new comer to the Brainerd track. But as showcased at the previous round at New Jersey, acclimating to a new track design and going fast is not a shortcoming for Fix. Both driver and team arrive at each event well prepared for the task at hand.

“The Brainerd layout appears to be a relatively fast and long track,” noted Fix. “I know my car chief Greg and the rest of the Tony Ave Racing crew will have a solid game plan in place. I am looking forward to the weekend celebrating not only the Fourth of July but also another victory.”

This weekend’s event will mark the return of all three Trans Am Series classes racing on track simultaneously. A 41 car field will take heed of the green flag and traffic could play a role in the day’s outcome.

Said Fix, “Patience and pace, the operative words. The key will be to get out front early and set the tempo. With a large entry list and disparity in speeds, passing in traffic and maintaining quick lap times is going to be crucial.”

Trans Am will take to the racing surface on Saturday, July 4th with practice at 10:30 a.m. CST. “Fast Five” qualifying will commence at 2:20 p.m. CST. On Sunday, July 5th at 9:00 a.m. a second practice session followed by the second chance to qualify at 9:30 a.m. as teams prepare for the 100-mile, 40 lap, Ryan Companies Independence Day Classic at 1:50 p.m. Fans can watch the action live streaming on Periscope @LaurenFix.
