ECC Motorsports: Homestead-Miami recap and Daytona Preview

Team Release: Elgin, IL.  ECC Motorsports headed to Homestead-Miami with high hopes for Henriksen. Due to Hurricane Matthew and unpredictable weather, Trans Am’s scheduled test day was cancelled.  Luckily the weather cooperated with the rest of the weekend and we were able to get on track. We thank Miami-Homestead & Trans Am for taking necessary precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.

With only one test session before qualifying, we only had a short time on track Saturday.  We had some issues during our fast five qualifying session.  Because of this we would start last for the race on Sunday.  Thanks to the effort of our crew, we were able to overcome the issues and put Henriksen out on track for race day in the car he had hoped for.  Despite starting last, Henriksen prevailed during the race and made his way to 2nd.  With only a few laps to go Henriksen had his sights set on Cliff in 1st and winning his first TA race at Homestead.  A full course caution came out with only a few laps remaining. Race would end under caution due to cleanup was too timely to go green within time limitations. AJ finished 2nd.

“I couldn’t have finished 2nd to a better fellow racer and team.”  Stated Henriksen.  “Cliff and Mary Ebben’s efforts are well respected by ECC Motorsports.  What they accomplish together is amazing.”

ECC Motorsports is happy to announce the return of Adam Andretti to Trans Am for the last TA2 race of the year at Daytona International Speedway.  He will be running in a newly bodied Engineered Components Company/Anchor Bolt and Screw 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. 
“I’m happy to be returning to Trans Am.  Glad I will be in a car we have had great success with and the new body will definitely be an asset” Said Andretti

AJ Henriksen will also be competing in TA for this event.  Henriksen made his Trans Am debut in 2014 at Daytona with a 3rd place finish in TA.
