Damon Racing Ready for Trans-Am Series race Eight at Road America
August 22, 2016
August 19, 2016 - Challenges have a way of confronting all areas of life. For much of the 2016 season Trans-Am Series competitor Tom Sheehan and his LTK Insulation Technologies team have faced adversity. Despite underwhelming finishes in the last two outings, the Damon Racing program is a team on the rise, with driver and crew believing strongly in their potential, and that their best is yet to come.
Bow, New Hampshire: Trans-Am Series racer Tom Sheehan and team are moving toward the Road America weekend carrying identical optimism and the same self-belief they had at the start of the 2016 season. Despite a rash of glitches, which have truly tested each member, the Damon crew has continued to ‘build its notebook,’ while strengthening its knowledge of their Howe Chassid Chevrolet Camaros.
“We are again prepared; two great cars,” Sheehan explains. “My guys have been great at problem solving. We realize that problems happen to all teams, and how you deal with those issues can make or break your season.
“Really, our list of glitches is short; otherwise the car has been solid. The TA-2 class is just so competitive; you can’t spend any time on pit row. Without the unscheduled stops we had, I know we’d have been pleased with our results.”
Road America is race number eight of 13 in the 50th Anniversary season for the Trans-Am Series. The track is the longest road course the iconic Series contests. Damon Racing and driver Sheehan presently sit 10th in TA-2 Championship points as they chase the Trigon Trophy title.
“We still have five races ahead of us,” continued the racer, “and I feel good about our performance level.
“Jamie (Aube-Crew Chief) continues to develop our package, while I make sure I’m doing my job driving the racecar and giving good feedback. Then, we back- it-up with our data.”
In Bow, New Hampshire while the focus continued on finalizing Road America prep-work, and specifics on the second half of the 2016 season, Damon Racing added other important tasks. Tom Sheehan explained that, ‘his team is actively looking for business partnerships wanting to be strengthened through association with his team’.
“With Trans-Am continuing to build an amazing Series, and exposure through television and Social media being very exciting, there are great things ahead. I love the opportunities we have in Trans-Am. TA-2; it is a great place to be. We have great cars and talented drivers to showcase”, said Sheehan.
“Right now the spotlights on Road America, he explained. “I like what we have accomplished and recognize we are capable of great things as a team. We feel we’re ready to break -out. If we just keep digging, the results will come, I am sure of it.” he concluded.
