Cool Move of the Race: Kurt Roehrig
May 15, 2015

It was Kurt Roehrig, driver of the No. 04 PD For Life Chevrolet Camaro, who was the recipient of the Cool Move of the Race Award, presented by CoolShirt Systems.
Roehrig began the race in 38th position, dead last due to an unfortunate technicality in qualifying. Undeterred, he took to the road course at Road Atlanta for the Foametix Muscle Car Challenge, an independent TA2 race constituting Round 3 of the 2015 Trans Am Championship, and immediately began to climb through the ranks, gaining lap after lap.
In the end, Roehrig finished 16th in the 38-car field, gaining the most positions of any driver in the race.
In addition to his remarkable run through the field, the Foametix Muscle Car Challenge marked Roehrig’s return to Trans Am after receiving treatment for Parkinson’s disease, treatment that has since seen him return to racing.
“We’re extremely proud to present this award to Kurt,” said Mack Gouge, Vice President of Motorsports for CoolShirt Systems. “He’s a good friend of mine, and I’ve run his shocks on my own car for a long time. We’re glad he’s doing well and ecstatic to see him back in the Trans Am paddock.”
Roehrig received a CoolShirt Systems product certificate in conjunction with the award.
