COTA Result, Daytona Opportunity For Paul Fix

Austin, TX (November 11, 2015)- Paul Fix’s visit to the Lone Star state and the Circuit of The Americas for round eleven of the 2015 Trans Am schedule ended early in the event. Fix and the #4 Stopflex.com/CarCoach/RoyalPurple/Well-Worth Chevrolet Corvette experienced an unforeseen mechanical issue forcing the No. 4 entry to retire from the race. Fix finished 14th in the results and yet maintains a solid hold on second place in the championship standings with one remaining event, Daytona, this week.

The team attempted repairs to the damaged drivetrain while the field of cars circulated under a yellow flag situation. The issues plaguing the car were more than anticipated and Fix’s day was cut short.

“I have to give credit to my crew at Tony Ave Racing,” said Fix. “They immediately tended to the broken gearbox and made repairs. It was the fastest transmission replacement I have ever witnessed.”

Fix was the car to beat during the course of the weekend. The No. 4 Corvette proving once again its speed capabilities.

“Given the race results, I am very pleased with our overall performance this past weekend,” noted Fix. “We secured the pole position, led the most laps, set the fast race lap and established a new track record. All in all, a satisfying turn of events.”

This weekend’s season finale at Daytona provides Fix one final opportunity to advance to the top of the points standings. If the previous eleven events are any indication as to what to expect, Fix intends to close out the season on a solid note.

“We’ll go to Daytona and bring along our usual game plan, run up front and make them chase us. It’s not over until they wave the checker flag,” said Fix. “I have no intentions of making it easy for anyone.”

The on track action from Daytona begins Thursday, November 12th with Practice 1 at 11:00AM ET followed by Fast Five Qualifying at 4:30PM ET. Friday will have Practice 2 at 12:30PM ET and Saturday’s race will go green at 10:30AM ET. The race will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network on December 6th at 1:00PM ET.
