Boes and TRB Win at Portland – Get on a Winning Team for Spring Mountain!
August 2, 2024
Barry Boes, driver of the No. 32 Accio Data/TRB Autosport Ford Mustang, started from the back of the 21-car field in last Saturday’s Portland Trans Am Series race but was undaunted. An issue during Saturday morning qualifying necessitated repairs and changing all four Pirelli tires which sent him to the back of the grid. The TRB Autosport team had the car fixed and race-ready but Boes would have to work his way through the field. He was within the top ten by lap six and had worked his way up to third place by lap 40. When the leaders tangled, Boes made his move to the lead and held the top spot for the remaining 10 laps. The amazing part of that the run through the field is that it was not aided by any full-course caution laps.
Boes’ victory came in his ninth career Western Championship start and credited the prep by TRB Autosport of his M1 Racecars chassis. “Having to come from the back, it was all about car prep and not making mistakes” said Boes. Troy Benner of TRB said “we knew we had a driver who could win, we just needed to do our job and give him a car capable of a 50-lap run through the pack.”
Next, TRB and Boes are heading to Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada for the October 18-20 Trans Am Series Western Championship races. Troy Benner says that they have capacity to transport and/or support more cars and even have top-flight team cars available for rent.
