Baten and Hendrickson Team Up for Trans Am Debut at Mid-Ohio

Bill Baten, a long-time competitor in SCCA competition with 25 national wins, will make his Trans Am debut at the Next Dimension 100, presented by First Energy, at Mid-Ohio on August 15. Bill will drive the No. 85 TA3 Camaro sponsored by Hendrickson USA, joining the Total Performance Racing Team and the No. 39 car of Todd Napieralski.

Coming off a 2nd place finish at last year’s SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Laguna Seca, Bill is fulfilling a long-time dream of competing in the Trans Am Series. “I’ve followed the Trans Am series ever since I was a kid, and I’m truly honored to be able to now compete in this series”, said Baten. “My first car was a 1971 Camaro, and I’ve raced Camaros my entire career in Touring 2 and American Sedan, so racing a Camaro in Trans Am is a perfect fit for me. I’m very thankful to Hendrickson USA and Total Performance Racing for giving me this opportunity.”

“We are absolutely elated to have Bill on our team”, says Todd Napieralski, team owner of Total Performance Racing. He has been a strong competitor for many years in SCCA racing. He consistently runs up front and his experience in managing a race car is top notch. This is a great opportunity for all of us and we are excited to showcase what we can accomplish together.”

Baten’s debut also marks the debut of Hendrickson USA as sponsor in the Trans Am series. “I think it’s a testament to the current vitality of the Trans Am Series to attract a company of Hendrickson’s caliber as a sponsor”, says Baten. Hendrickson is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of medium- and heavy-duty truck suspensions and other components, and is a major supplier to every North American heavy-duty truck/trailer manufacturer, as well as many overseas manufacturers.
