Archer Set to Rebound at Road America after Mid-Season Misfortunes
June 30, 2022
Dylan Archer and the MMR/FPEC Racing Group have maximized the time to process the unfortunate results of the Lime Rock, CT and Mid-Ohio weekends, now with all focus and positive vibes heading into this weekend’s race at Road America. Archer, who sits 11th in points after 7 of 12 races complete, knows he has the car, team and talent for improved results from the last 2 races.
The last 2 races have been challenging for the #0 FPEC.COM Ford Mustang driver, as Lime Rock presented a mechanical issue preventing him from starting the race. Redemption was top of mind for the entire team heading into Mid-Ohio last weekend, when a catastrophic parts failure 3 laps into the weekend sent the team working through the night to repair the issue and ensure Archer was able to get back on track for Saturday’s practice and qualifying session. Qualifying came quick for the team with only 6 laps of practice and qualifying times didn’t represent what the team felt the car had. Archer started the race at Mid-Ohio in the 24th position and had non-stop battles throughout the race, crossing the checkered flag in 16th position.
“Early in the race we were able to pick up some positions and continue to work our way up through the field, as we knew we had a fast car with a shot at another top 10 finish. Unfortunately, mid-race, an incident shuffled us to the back – requiring us to work our way back up through the field again. Coming across 16th wasn’t exactly the finish we hoped for but I’m proud that we were able to battle back with a damaged race car and get some points from the weekend,” says Archer.
The now 23-year-old rookie, who celebrated a birthday this month, has all attention set on Road America. “I have high hopes for this weekends race at Road America and I’m especially looking forward to having my family out at the track. I’m ready for our results to show the caliber of car and team we have every weekend! I can’t thank everyone enough with the MMR/FPEC Racing Group for the continued trust and support throughout this season.”
This weekend’s schedule begins with practice on Friday, July 1, qualifying on Saturday and the 25 lap/75-minute race on Sunday, July 3 at 10:30am.
