Lakeville, CONNECTICUT – May 20, 2025 - Fresh from securing his first podium finish of the season in the second of the California double-headers at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, New Hampshire's Tom Sheehan is on more familiar ground when the 2025 Cube 3 Architecture Trans Am presented by Pirelli Pro Am Challenge resumes at Like Rock Park, May 23 to 26.
The Trans Am Memorial Day SpeedTour will make the visit to Lime Rock Park as it has over the years and just back in 2023, Tom finished in P9 overall. The Ironman clocked the comparatively short Connecticut course in a best time of 54.177. Tom will be aiming for another podium finish at the circuit known among aficionados as “The Little Bullring.”
Sheehan made some comments ahead of the event this weekend, "It's a short trip down the road from my home to Lime Rock. This track brings back a lot of memories. It will be nice to see friends and take in Lime Rock. It's history for me and deep history in motorsports."
Located just 160 miles from his HQ in Bow, New Hampshire, Lime Rock Park is Tom’s local track on the Trans Am schedule. Lakeville, Connecticut is home to this natural-terrain motorsport road racing venue, situated in a hamlet adjacent to the town of Salisbury, in the state's northwest corner. Built in 1956, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009 and is the nation's third oldest continuously operating road racing venue, behind Road America and Willow Springs. The track is owned by Skip Barber, a former race car driver who started the Skip Barber Racing School in 1975.
Making the weekend extra special, the Trans Am Series will be joined at Lime Rock by Elijah and his family from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Elijah is an active, funny, and caring 12-year-old who was diagnosed with Blastic Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cell Neoplasm (BPDCN) – a rare and aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects fewer than 1,000 people each year. Despite his diagnosis, Elijah shines very brightly with his love for basketball and exotic cars, bringing energy and joy to everyone around him. We all hope he has a wonderful weekend as the very special guest of the Trans Am family.
Tom's No. 97 Vixen Cycle Co / LTK Insulation Technologies / Mike Cope Mustang is one of 26 cars entered in Saturday's TA2 Race, 9 of which compete in the Pro Am Challenge. The race consisting of 68 laps gets underway at 1:20pm ET.
