Nitro Motorsports Aims for Wins at Three Different Locations This Weekend

GR Cup, Trans Am, and SCCA Runoffs Victories on the Line Across the Country

September 30, 2024 – In what could be named as the busiest race weekend of the year for Nitro Motorsports, the championship-caliber program will support 12 drivers over three different events. Taking on the Toyota GR Cup North America, the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli, and the prestigious SCCA Runoffs, Nitro Motorsports will be looking for race wins and podium results nationwide.

The largest contingent of Nitro Motorsports drivers will descend on the fast VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) as six drivers will do battle. Leading the way into VIR will be the current TA2 point leader and multi-time race winner Rafa Matos. Ben Maier and Thomas Annunziata, third and fourth in the championship standings, will look to make headway into the point lead that Matos has amassed as they will also race alongside Mauri Zaccarelli, Cale Phillips, and Jared Odrick. With six drivers under the Nitro Motorsports banner, John Weisberg will also take advantage of the potent trackside support program.

Just like Nitro Motorsports busy schedule, Jared Odrick will also be a man on a mission as he jet sets from event to event. Competing in the Trans Am event at VIR, Odrick will also travel to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, in his quest for a Runoffs victory. Racing alongside Brad McAllister at the 4.048-mile, 14-turn facility, the duo will aim high in Wisconsin, with Odrick looking to make history and win in both Wisconsin and Virginia on the same weekend.

The final Nitro Motorsports driver lineup will come from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the 2024 Toyota GR Cup North America finale. A trio of drivers will work together at one of the world’s most famous racecourses to come together and fight at the pointy end of the field. Utilizing knowledge and experience from their Copeland Motorsports alliance, Jade Avedisian, Ethan Tovo, and Jackson Tovo will fly the Nitro Motorsports banner.

“It is a busy weekend, and we are looking forward to the challenge,” explained Nitro Motorsports’ Nick Tucker. “While it would be very cool to win at all three venues on the same weekend, it would be monumental if we can pull something like that off.”

Drivers will hit the track midweek across the country, and we invite you to follow along via the Nitro Motorsports social media pages for news, information, photos and results from all events.
