Competition One and David Budres ready to take on the streets of Nashville
August 3, 2022
David Budres and Competition One Racing will head south to Nashville, TN for the second running of the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix. The weekend will kick off with practice Friday morning at 10:15 winding through the streets of Nashville, around Nissan Stadium, home to the Tennessee Titans.
“I’m really looking forward to hitting the track at Nashville” said driver David Budres. “It’s my first street race since my early go kart days. It is such a marquee event and we all can’t wait to get down there.”
The team welcomes Nortek Copperworks along for the trip to Nashville. Nortek Copperworks offers a variety of quality copper products to preserve and enhance your log home. “We can’t thank Jay Shuler and Nortek enough for helping us get to Nashville” said Budres. “We’re really excited and appreciate them helping us make this event. We’ve put in a ton of effort and feel like we’ve improved our car and team since our season debut at Road America a few weeks ago. We could not have done it without Nortek.”
The weekend concludes on Saturday with the green flag flying for the 100 mile race at 12:30 CT following the 9:10 qualifying session. “It’s going to be key to just log some laps and keep the nose clean, especially Saturday morning” says Budres. “The key for me will be getting comfortable early, then try to work on pace. We need to qualify as best as we can and finish the race. Doing that should get us a good result. I’m confident our pace will be even better than Road America.”
The race will be live streamed on Trans Am’s Facebook and YouTube pages. It will also be tape delayed on CBS Sports Network to be aired at a later date. Visit www.gotransam.com for more info.
