10 Days of Champions - Chris Evans: XGT Western Championship

2022 SGT Western Championship winner Chris Evans returned to the gala stage after developing a new racecar to compete in XGT, claiming his first title in the class driving the No. 92 Central Welding Supply Ford Mustang. His team, Chris Evans Inc., swept the XGT class in 2024, with drivers in his stable winning every event this season.

After his teammates Michelle Nagai (No. 72 Nagai Racing/Berkeley Jet Drive Chevrolet Camaro) and Will Rodgers (No. 12 Central Welding Supply/Chris Evans Race Cars Ford Mustang) claimed the first five races of the season, Evans took his turn atop the podium in Races 1 & 2 at Portland International Raceway. A fourth-place finish at Circuit of The Americas was enough to clinch the title, while Rodgers claimed his final victory of 2024.

“Winning the championship is a testament to the engineering, the effort and the thought that have gone into these racecars,” said Evans. “They're very well equipped for stopping and cornering, and have a lot of power. We're pretty stoked that our efforts are producing results that put us up on the podium and win us the championship.”

In 2025, the Chris Evans Inc. cars will find themselves competing in a new class named TA Cup, allowing the single-builder high-performance spec tube-frame vehicles to shine in competition in the Western Championship and the National Championship’s Pick 6 Challenge.

“Our cars are a collaborative effort between Jerry Pitts, Jeff Jefferson, and Aaron Coalwell, as well as Chris Rohm, who is helping fine tune how we’re building things and the quality that we're putting into them,” said Evans about the class. “We think that these are a great value for the car's capability. The whole idea is that the concept is very simple, the rules are very straightforward, and therefore, very easy in the technical inspection line. We’re able to look at these from a manufacturing point of view, rather than a custom build, which is going to keep the costs down a bit looking into the future. We're really happy about TA Cup.”
