Trans Am Series announces “100 Miles of Luna-C” at Road Atlanta
The Trans Am Series has officially announced that Round 3 of the 2014 Trans Am Championship, Sunday May 10, 2014, will be entitled the “100 Miles of Luna-C,” as the Series partners with Atlanta-based fashion house Luna-C Clothing.
Luna-C, the Official Apparel of Trans Am, will be on site throughout the Trans Am event showcasing their racing-inspired clothing line and infusing their own distinct brand into the weekend for both fans and drivers.
“We’re bringing forth the entire Luna-C experience for the weekend,” said Jake Pickett, Director of Marketing and Partnership Development for The Trans Am Race Company.  “Fans of Trans Am and all motorsports will see the effort and hard work that Luna-C puts into making clothing that not only embodies the culture and brand of Trans Am and racing but is also of the highest quality and function.
“The Luna-C brand is about immersion into the automotive lifestyle, a blend of fashion, technology and racing,” according to Lee Davis, Founder of Luna-C Clothing.  “Luna-C was born at the track, so it’s great to have the opportunity to showcase our products in that environment.  We’re thrilled to be there with Trans Am as we continue to build our partnership together.
All Trans Am races take a 100-mile sprint format, where pit stops are optional and usually avoided.  It’s a high-stakes, high-intensity format that brings out the best in drivers, as they participate in a racing environment that only exists in Trans Am.
By combining high fashion with the thrill of Trans Am racing, the 100 Miles of Luna-C will provide a memorable weekend for fans in attendance at Road Atlanta.
Trans Am will begin the festivities with practice on Friday May 9, at 9:00 a.m. EDT, followed by a second practice at 11:40 a.m. in preparation for qualifying at 2:15 p.m.
Trans Am will once again hold two feature races, with the TA2 class running prior to the TA and TA3 classes. The TA2 race goes green at 9:00 a.m. Saturday May 10, with TA and TA3 taking to the track at 10:20 a.m. Both races will be 101.6 miles in length.
Fans are also invited to visit the 100 Miles of Luna-C autograph session, which will take place in the Trans Am paddock at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9. The autograph session is free with event ticket purchase and is open all event attendees,
Road Atlanta is located in Flowery Branch, Georgia, roughly 50 minutes northeast of Atlanta.   The Formula Drift Series will also be in attendance throughout the weekend. Tickets for the event can be purchased at www.roadatlanta.com/drift-tickets.
