 BACK TO THE FUTURE

TEAM RELEASE -- Milwaukee, WI - February 24, 2015- An iconic sponsor returns to Trans Am racing with one of the most accomplished racers in the history of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Raybestos Powertrain - and its red, white, and blue paint scheme made famous in the '90s by Dorsey Schroeder - returns to Trans Am as the full-season primary sponsor of 5-time SCCA National Champion Lawrence Loshak, and his 7-time National Championship-winning team, Loshak Racing.

Loshak intends to uphold the winning traditions of his SCCA Club Racing career and Dorsey's tenure in the original Raybestos Trans Am Mustang in this, his first season of professional competition. Last year, to get a firsthand feel for the series, Lawrence had the opportunity to race a TA2 car and proceeded to win the pole position in a field crowded with veterans and champions. This year, he and his team will be campaigning their own car - the Raybestos Powertrain/Loshak Racing Ford Mustang TA2, built by Meissen Engineering.

"The team and I have always dreamed of going pro racing. But we wanted to be ready, we wanted to pick the right class, we wanted it to be special," said Lawrence Loshak. "It's essentially been the same group of guys since I was a teenager. We have collected good and bad memories, but we've stuck together and grown together. So combined with the return of Trans Am, the return of Raybestos, getting to bring back Dorsey's famous livery; it's all very special."

”On behalf of everyone the Raybestos Powertrain team, we are excited to join forces with Loshak Racing for the 2015 Trans Am season," said Raybestos Powertrain Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Reinhard Brinkmeier. "Raybestos Powertrain is a high-performance business in a competitive industry, and we look forward to watching Lawrence Loshak and Loshak Racing represent our brand and our ideals in such an engaging, fast-growing race series."

Enjoying a growth in average field sizes of between 300-400% in the past three seasons, Trans Am racing has come thundering back to a place of prominence in the professional motorsports landscape, and 2015 is poised to again be a case study in explosive growth, with a record 70+ cars entered in the season opener. "The return of the Raybestos colors and Raybestos Powertrain to Trans Am, and the fact that a driver with credentials as impressive as Lawrence's has chosen to bring his team into the series speaks directly to the huge growth and value/ROI that has defined the Trans Am series since the new ownership group assumed leadership in 2011," said John Clagett, President of the Trans Am Race Company. "Trans Am has perfectly positioned itself to align with and take advantage of the obvious - and welcome - renaissance of American Muscle Cars."

Raybestos Powertrain (re-)joining Trans Am adds another chapter to Trans Am's unique story of the yesterday, today, and tomorrow of racing. "Of all the cars I've had the pleasure of racing throughout my long career, I'm probably most often associated with the Raybestos Mustang that I drove in the Trans Am series," said 1989 Trans Am Champion, Dorsey Schroeder. "I am proud to have represented Raybestos on- and off-the track, and I believe that of today's current crop of up-and-coming pro drivers, Lawrence is the absolute definition of a brand ambassador and a winner. I'm very excited for Trans Am, Raybestos Powertrain, and Loshak Racing, and I look forward to watching Lawrence bring "my" Raybestos colors back to the front of Trans Am!"

And if history is any indication, Lawrence and his team at Loshak Racing will have the Raybestos Powertrain Mustang challenging for wins and championships. "After so many years of support from my crew, friends, fans, Hyperformance, Racers Fuel the Cure, and Level 11 Creative, I'm so grateful that we're all doing this together," said Loshak. "I would also like to thank Peter Stark and Change Agent Racing Solutions for helping put together our Trans Am partnership with Raybestos Powertrain, and my family and ETE Reman for always being with me. We're proud to represent Raybestos Powertrain and look forward to winning lots of races for them!"
