Sebring in the Sights for GoShare and Burtin Racing Season Opener

TEAM NEWS Sebring, FL – March 3, 2017 – The 2017 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli will debut at Sebring International Raceway this weekend and the action appears to be as exciting and competitive as ever. With thirteen races scheduled at America’s most iconic venues, including Watkins Glen, Circuit of The Americas, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the season finale at Daytona International Speedway. The series will also continue the NASCAR pairing at Mid-Ohio and Road America for some of the best motor racing has to offer together on the same weekend. The March 5 season opener this weekend has a strong field of 75 cars with the Trans Am feature race start at 3pm EST on Sunday.

Expectation levels are high with the Burtin Racing team, where they are looking to build on the success of 2016. Sebring is familiar ground for Burtin, last year the team achieved a thrilling podium finish and in the process posted fastest lap of 02:06.945 – faster than the eventual winner.

“I think we had a great run here last year and we will do our best to be there at the end of the race again come Sunday,” stated Claudio Burtin, owner and driver at Burtin Racing. “GoShare is onboard again this season with us as primary sponsor. They are really starting to grow as a local on-demand delivery service provider. Keep an eye out for GoShare, they currently serve California, New Jersey and Atlanta with more markets around the corner.”

Burtin Racing will continue to sport the GoShare blue theme in 2017 on the No. 7 Corvette C7.R. During the winter, the Corvette platform operated by Burtin has been steadily improving since its debut in 2014 at Daytona. Improvement updates, dyno testing and completing the final installments of the XTRAC sequential transmission. The crew eagerly awaits the season to get underway this weekend.

Pirelli Tire North America has joined the Trans Am Series as presenting sponsor and tire supplier. This event marks the maiden voyage for the series teams and drivers on the new rubber compound. All classes will run the Pirelli product in both the national and west coast championships.
