Mike Cope Racing heads from Coast to Coast

Arrive and Drive regulars, as well as a familiar face, fill MCR seats at Lime Rock

Clearwater, FL (May 22, 2019)— Coming off a successful race weekend at the beautiful WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Mike Cope Racing is heading North to Lime Rock Park for Round 4 of The Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli, TA2 Muscle Car Challenge.

Laguna Seca witnessed an impressive performance by both MCR Arrive and Drive program participants, and driver’s behind the wheel of Mike Cope Chassis’.  The A&D regulars came home in the 5th, 6th and 7th spots with Keith Prociuk leading the way, securing his first top 5 of the season. Lawless Alan would come home 6th and Matt Parent finished his season best with a P7.
The #26 Mike Cope Race Cars house car was piloted by Jim Gallaugher out of Washington State. A long-time friend of fellow A&D driver, Matt Parent, Gallaugher was so thrilled coming out of the race weekend that he put an order in for a brand new MCR car of his own. He’ll be joining the team at the end of the season to break in his new ride.

The Cope Chassis’ in the field did not fail to impress, especially the #81 Big Deihl Racing/Skip Barber Racing School Ford Mustang of Thomas Merrill. Merrill worked his way up from the last position to take the checkered flag and capture the victory. What a drive by Merrill at Laguna Seca.

A congratulations is also due to the #24 of Brad McAllister. McAllister, a regular on the West Coast scene, took the #1 spot for TA2 out of the West Coast cars, making it 2 for 2 Cope Chassis’ taking the checkered for both coasts.

Mike Cope Racing and Mike Cope Chassis’ head into the upcoming Lime Rock race weekend with great momentum. Under the tent this weekend we have the #9 HP Tuners Chevrolet Camaro of Keith Prociuk looking to make it another top 5 this season. Lawless Alan in the #52 AutoParkIT Ford Mustang looks to continue his growth in the series and hold on to the top spot for Rookie of the Year honors.

To top off the weekend, we are happy to announce that Thomas Merrill will be behind the wheel of our #26 Mike Cope Race Cars house car backed by Big Diehl Racing and Skip Barber Racing Schools looking to make it 2 in a row for Merrill.
