Stevens-Miller Racing announces addition of Louis-Philippe Montour
February 26, 2016
Stevens-Miller Racing (SMR) is proud to announce a partnership with driver Louis-Philippe (LP) Montour from St-Donat, Qc, Canada. LP will continue his road racing career with the SMR team driving a TA2 Dodge Challenger. According to Joe Stevens (owner of SMR), “Working with drivers that have the level of talent like LP is our mission. LP has already captured championships in the SRT Viper Challenge and USGT-X Championship presented by NARRA, and a TransAm TA2 championship pursuit will be his next objective. LP will be a force to be reckoned with as he familiarizes himself with the Howe chassis and the Hoosier Racing Tire.”
LP has been driving Chrysler products since 2011 and has continuously developed his skills within the Chrysler brand. He has been coached personally by Kuno Wittmer since he was 15 years old. “Kuno is my mentor and I have great respect for him. He has helped me develop my driving skills at every level.” said LP. During the 2016 season LP will also receive coaching from Jason Hart and two-time TA2 champion Cameron Lawrence.
LP stated “I am very excited to work with the Stevens-Miller Racing Team and equally as excited about driving a TA2 Dodge Challenger. The TransAm series has always been in my head. I like the level of competition and the concept that the 3 major US manufacturers are competing at some of my most favorite tracks. The competition in TA2 is 10/10, and I am ready to do everything I can to put the car up front!”
“For me, continuing to race in a Dodge product with this team is a dream come true. Lee Carducci from Arrow Race Engine has been a partner of the Montour Racing Team and continuing that relationship is the perfect fit. My father, Marc Montour, is supporting me as much as he can also. We started racing together in 2011 at Daytona. I really want to grow with the Dodge brand and race in a professional series with a championship winning team and I am extremely grateful for everything he provides“, said LP.
SMR will also being fielding the #11 TA2 Dodge Challenger driven by Peter Klutt of Legendary MotorCar Company (www.legendarymotorcar.com), which specializes in the restoration, trading, and sales of the finest and rarest of classic, performance, and muscle cars. SMR’s #12 Challenger will be driven by Jason Kennedy, an experienced TA2 driver from New Orleans, LA.
